Everyone's having a rest day.

I walked into the kitchen, wondering where Trouble had gone. This is what I found.

I suppose it was a bit cold.

She came out for some lamb. Tomorrow we go out to try and buy her a dog bed. Hopefully she's grown out of pissing on them by now.

knackered.

Niche, knackered after a hard day. We'd been out walking twice and she helped me herd chickens, dig raised beds and go back and forth from the compost heap covering the beds.

Esme was on her soap box supervising the work.

Busy Sunday.

And while I've been busy in the garden or out handing in my CV to garden centres, these two have been very busy too.

Busy sleeping.

I think it rained.

Yes, I think it must have rained heavily in the night. Although when I left the house it was snowing just a little bit, and its trying again now. This sad and broken looking tree is or was my very favorite tree of all time and this was a beautiful shaded grove in the summer time.I really don't understand why they did this. As far as I could tell it was a healthy tree.

This stream is normally quite slow moving but today it was a torrent, the rushing sound the water made was really quite loud.

This is normally less than half full.

Despite the mud and the wet this was a nice walk. An hour and forty minutes with the dogs. Just enough for Trouble and not too much for Niche. Its so hard to get the perfect balance.

It would have been nicer if there was a bit more sunshine though.

I went to the cemetery to visit my mums grave on my walk too as it's mothers day tomorrow, but unfortunately the council were digging a new grave just in front of my mums, so I couldn't really stop. It is a difficult time of year with all of the talk about mums everywhere, and I know for those who have more recently lost a parent it can be a very hard time indeed. But it will be over soon and things can get back to normal. Oh, the snows starting up again.

Change.

Do you see the hill at the other end of the land, the one with all the trees on it?
That is the side, that I used to live. I used to walk Niche over to those woods, and pick sweet chestnuts and hazelnuts. Its a really beautiful wood, really old trees and absolutely no traffic. I found out the other day that the place that I was standing when I was taking this picture is going to have 300 houses built on it. I can't describe how angry I am about this.

Wish I could have been given this land. I would have created something beautiful and beneficial to the environment. I really can't stand new builds, so many old houses need doing up but people would rather chip away at nature. So, so angry.

snakey post.

Look how big butters is. :) He's a lovely lad. Hes having a bit of a hard time right now due to the start of the mating season, but he'll calm down.
Brian is still tiny but really, really feisty. He bit me today. My first proper snake bite. I can see the holes when I look really, really carefully. All I was doing was cleaning out his viv. He is shedding though so I can't blame him. Poor baby was scared.

Up bright and early.

I went for a walk in the woods.

I took my super high energy dogs with me. *cough* Trouble get up

They had a lovely run around

I had to run to keep up.

Until someone started to graze.

We're all happy that the weather is improving.
